Lisa Cherrington was born in Turangi and was raised predominantly in Palmerston North. She was educated at Awatapu College and continued her studies at Massey University where she graduated with a Masters and Diploma in Clinical Psychology. She is employed at Oranga Hinengaro, Specialist Māori Mental Health Team in Palmerston North as a Clinical Psychologist. She has always written through the encouragement of her mother Susan Olsson. She has written a novel, poems and short stories.
