National Library annotation: "Recounts episodes in Arawa history, including fighting with Ngai Te Rangi in the 1840s, and gives whakapapa information. In his book `The Great New Zealand myth' D R Simmonds claims this manuscript was written in 1846. However, the names given in some whakapapa indicate it was probably written between 1860 and 1880. Other - NB: Black and white negative (C 16135) of `four waka', p21, available through the Pictorial Reference Section. Colour transparency of same available through the Drawings and Prints Section."
