Atakohu Middleton has worked as a journalist for Mana magazine, New Zealand Listener, the Sunday Times, the New Zealand Herald and the Guardian. She has also published short stories in Huia Short Stories 12 and 14 and her PhD dissertation in Māori journalism practise formed the basis of Kia Hiwa Rā! Māori Journalism in Aotearoa New Zealand 2023.
