- Kimura writes a history of the wharenui Te Tikanga on Tokorangi Marae near Feilding. This place is ‘the physical and spiritual heart of Ngāti Pikiahu Waewae.’ Te Tikanga was built in the 1880s alongside the Rangitikei river and was subsequently moved to higher ground in 1907 when the river flooded.
