  • Parata writes a narrative of brothers Te Atua and Hinga-mai-rangi who lived near Poutu on the northern side of the Kaipara Harbour mouth. Their pa was attacked by Haki-puta-tomuri and his brothers after a perceived insult was directed at the latter’s deceased father Hau-moe-warangi. This account is dated 1892.
